(Pci path varies by card – use Hackintool to locate GPU audio device)

Building a Hackintosh is a rewarding challenge, but getting video output to work correctly through HDMI is one of the most common hurdles. Often, you’ll face a "No Signal" message or a black screen even when the system is running.

This issue stems from the fundamental difference between how macOS expects to communicate with displays and how PC hardware implements its video outputs. macOS is designed for Apple's tightly controlled ecosystem, where every component follows specific protocols. PC motherboards and laptops, by contrast, often route HDMI signals through complex pathways that macOS doesn't recognize out of the box.

Look at the index list. macOS expects HDMI ports to have the Connector Type set to HDMI (represented as data value 00080000 ). If your physical HDMI port is listed as DP ( 00040000 ), it must be patched.

NVIDIA support in modern macOS versions is limited, as Apple ceased using NVIDIA GPUs years ago. For Hackintosh systems with NVIDIA cards:

Add to boot args:

If video works but no audio over HDMI:

If your 4K monitor is locked at a lagging 30Hz over HDMI, it is usually due to a pixel clock limitation in macOS for generic hardware.

Open your config.plist in ProperTree and locate DeviceProperties -> Add .
