The movie begins with Barbie playing the role of Elina, a kind-hearted and adventurous fairy who lives in the magical land of Fairytopia. Elina's home is filled with vibrant flowers, sparkling fountains, and a diverse array of fantastical creatures. "You saved Fairytopia without wings, Elina
Elina bravely enters Laverna's dark and ominous lair. Laverna, surprised to see a mere wingless fairy, mocks her but is also intrigued. She reveals her plan to replace the Enchantress as the ruler of Fairytopia. She presents Elina with an impossible choice: join her and receive the wings she has always wanted, or refuse and face destruction.
This establishes Elina's central internal conflict: she is surrounded by flying fairies but cannot join them. Some pixies cruelly mock her, asking, "What do you call a fairy without wings?" The answer, of course, is "Nothing! Who'd call her a fairy?". Despite the teasing, Elina remains positive. You just keep going
The DVD was presented in widescreen with Dolby 5.1 and 2.0 audio, and Spanish 2.0 audio was also available. Suggested retail price was $19.98.
"You used the flowers to steal magic. But you forgot one thing, Laverna. Magic isn't in the wings. It's in the heart."
