A standard, factory-settings PlayStation 3 will not allow you to install unsigned PKG files from a USB drive. Your console must be running custom software. There are two primary methods to achieve this: 1. Custom Firmware (CFW)

Older PS3 models (Fat models and early Slim models up to CECH-25xx).

Click on your game's PKG file to begin the installation.

To install free PKG games, your PS3 must be running custom firmware (CFW) or Hybrid Firmware (HFW) with HEN (Homebrew Enabler). Here is the checklist:
